The Submariner Memorial – Installed!

Yesterday at the National Memorial Arboretum The Submariner Memorial  was carefully placed into position and fixed to its foundations ahead of the dedication on 18 May. Remembrance Capsule placed in foundation

The groundworks for The Submariner Memorial  are progressing according to plan with concrete being poured today for the foundation.    The Remembrance Capsule, containing the many individual tributes which have been submitted,  was laid today in the concrete under the position where the lone submariner will stand. Memorial Dedication Date Announced!

The Submariner Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum will be dedicated on Wednesday 18 May.  There are a limited number of spaces at the event, which includes a lunch, and these have been divided between serving submariners and their families, submarine veterans and those who have donated, fundraised and worked for the appeal. Memorial Taking Shape

The Submariner Memorial is taking shape in the foundry with most elements now cast and finishing processes getting underway. The final colour will be a very dark brown/black.
